This paper seeks to conduct a case study analysis of the supply chain management (SCM) undertaken by a flower exporting company based in Canberra, Australia to Hong Kong. The main issues are based on transportation cost and environmental impacts of freight mainly after the move from air to sea transport caused by Covid-19. The report then discusses more concepts, issues and advantages provided by supply chain management, uses Michael Porter’s value chain model analyzing competitive advantage to protect, defines two large problems in the SCM processes associated with sea or air transportation, and offers possible solutions for those problems. Some suggestions are given to improve the cost-effectiveness and decrease more negative impacts on the environment without affecting the often-folded fresh flowers performance on the export market.
